Rental Income No Longer Subject to SDC
From 1 January 2026, the Special Defence Contribution on rental income was abolished for all residents. This is a notable change for anyone earning rent from property in Cyprus.
What this means
Rental income is no longer subject to the SDC charge, which makes property ownership in Cyprus more attractive for residents and investors.
